2012 Block Party
Pasadena Hills ushered in the fall season with its Block Party on October 6th. Festivities began with a tour of the firehouse and a 5K run through the hills. At the fountain a crowd gathered to welcome our new residents, visit with friends and enjoy the evening.
The police showed off their swat team truck. Tent activities included live music, a display of antique dolls, health information, night light
handouts and free custom fitted bike helmets. You could even get a proper massage for a donation to a charity and or have a portrait taken. The kids had a great time having their faces painted, rolling in a big blow up ball, drawing, jumping rope, playing catch and hula hooping. The Paper Bag hats became the fashion statement of the evening and the weaving demonstrations resulted in a ‘neighborhood tapestry’ which will soon be on display at city hall.
Thanks to our sponsors, Innovative Roofing, St. Louis Community Credit Union, Ameren Missouri and Pro-Tech roofing we had an abundance of hamburgers, brats, hotdogs, chips and soda. Neighbors filled the potluck table with delicious sides, appetizers, and desserts. There was popcorn, cotton candy, the ice cream truck and even bones for the dogs. St. Ann Church was kind to provide the dining tables.
Thank you to the community of volunteers who worked so hard to put on a wonderful community event.
Louis Kelly, a Pasadena Hills resident, took hundreds of photos of the event, too many to post on the site. Some are displayed on this page, but you can view the entire collection at the website listed below and order prints. There are many terrific family portraits that you won't want to miss!
